SCHOOL-WIDE ENRICHMENT (SWEC)
SWEC provides all Nathan Hale students with a wide range of enrichment activities funded by our PTO. Guest speakers, and special programs provide students with educational opportunities that enhance and extend the general curriculum.
SCHOOL STORE
The Nathan Hale PTO sponsors a school store on the first and third Friday of the month, before school from 8:30 am - 8:50 am
INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC
Students in grades 4 & 5 may elect to take instrumental music lessons.
NATHAN HALE SINGERS
The Nathan Hale Singers, a special choral group of fourth and fifth graders, perform under the direction of the vocal music teacher.
HALE MENTORS
Hale Mentors is a program that matches Maloney High School Key Clubbers with Nathan Hale students. Mentors facilitate a variety of activities such as reading buddies, friendship buddies, and publishing buddies.
HALE CARES
Hale Cares is a program that provides food, clothing and gifts to students based on need.
NATHAN HALE BOOK SWAP
Nathan Hale Book Swap is a program, facilitated by parents, teachers and students, that encourages students to literally swap books they have read and no longer wish to keep in their personal library. The Book Swap bookcase is located in the main hallway.
STUDENT ACADEMIC, SOCIAL AND POSITIVE ATTENDANCE RECOGNITION
Nathan Hale recognizes students for their continued efforts in maintaining appropriate school behaviors are and positive attendance. Students who consistently follow school rules are selected by their teachers for special recognition. Positive Attendance encourages students to consistently come to school.

Incentives
Each class, grade level team and school will have an incentive program in place that will reward students on a consistent basis. There will be a Hawk Hall of Fame for students who achieve a certain level of recognition.
Minor/Major Offenses
Students who have difficultly maintaining the expectations will receive a Minor Offense pink slip, or a Major Offense green slip and be sent to an alternative setting. Parents will be notified with an explanation of the occurrence and the resulting action taken.
